Device Warranty and Hardware Terms

This warranty applies to IoT devices, monitoring systems, hardware components, and electronic equipment supplied by SmartNetic Pty Ltd.
1. Warranty Coverage
SmartNetic provides a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in hardware supplied by SmartNetic.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, hardware is covered for a period of:
12 months from the date of delivery.
2. Warranty Limitations
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
• incorrect installation
• power surges or electrical faults
• misuse or physical damage
• water damage or environmental exposure
• unauthorized modifications
• third-party repairs
3. Software and Firmware
SmartNetic devices may include firmware or embedded software.
This firmware remains the intellectual property of SmartNetic.
Clients may not copy, modify, extract, or redistribute firmware without written permission.
4. Remote Monitoring Systems
Some SmartNetic devices rely on connectivity such as:
• WiFi
• GSM networks
• internet connectivity
SmartNetic cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation where external connectivity services fail.
5. Repairs and Replacement
If a hardware defect occurs within the warranty period:
SmartNetic may choose to:
• repair the device
• replace the device
• provide an equivalent replacement
The warranty does not guarantee immediate replacement.
6. Liability
SmartNetic shall not be liable for damages resulting from device malfunction including:
• property damage
• loss of business
• operational downtime
Devices are provided as monitoring or automation tools and should not be relied upon as the sole safety system.
7. Installation Responsibility
Unless SmartNetic performs installation directly, clients are responsible for ensuring that hardware is installed correctly and safely.
8. Governing Law
This warranty is governed by the laws of South Africa.
